I went yesterday to my dad's office to get checked for strep throat, because my throat was burning and scratchy. Fortunately, I didn't, but apparently, I have a virus, and it hurts. *sticks tongue out out* And the medicine tastes bad, as usual. But anyway, how's everyone else doing? No one else sick, I hope?

I was sick a few days ago and missed a couple days of work. Feeling much better now though. Sorry to hear about your virus.

Sorry to hear about that. A sore throat is always annoying and painful. I do like the honey/(something else, I think) cough drops that I use whenever my throat is sore, though. As for me, the weather is messing with my sinuses, but everything should sort itself out after I get used to it.

My sinues have been acting up, too, which is sometimes worse than the virus. Anywho, I think it's passing. I ALWAYS catch the throat problems!!!

Well, people are going crazy. A lady came to my dad's office the other day demanding that he order the treatment for her son, who wasn't even showing any signs of the flu. Frankly, he didn't order it.

Hahaha! In a way, that's kind of funny. But really, people are blowing this whole thing out of proportion. Yeah, sure, it's a new strain of the flu, but there are ALWAYS new strains of the flu. Besides, for people our age it's not really lethal anyway. Only the really young or really old have anything to worry about. But speaking of people freaking out, I read that the Egyptian government ordered the slaughter of all the pigs in their country because of the flu thing, even though there's no relation between eating pork and this flu.

Yeah, and I believe it's airborne, so slaughtering the pigs doesn't really make sense. . . .

I think it's more of a religion thing for them, to tell you the truth ... by what the article said, their government has been trying to do stuff with the country's pig farms for a while now, and the so-called "swine flu" gave them an opportunity to try and do so again.
